Role Description

Trident Homes Timaru are looking for a confident and motivated Construction Manager to ensure that houses are built in a timely manner and to the contract plans, specifications and colour selections and in addition manage all authorised variations. This must be done using the Trident Homes system. However the Construction Manager is expected to continually improve the system in conjunction with the Franchisee.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure houses are built within the scheduled time frame.
Ensure houses are built to necessary Building Standards and contract plans, specification and colour selections.
Monitor the workmanship of subcontractors and suppliers.
Resolve issues on a timely basis.
Ensure the necessary statutory and local body inspections are completed.
Ensure that adequate communication maintained with the owner throughout the building process.
Ensure Health and Safety standards are maintained on job sites at all times.
Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, staff and sales consultants, maintain site files and computer supervisor systems.

Functional Relationships

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Building relationships with Franchisees and their staff, subcontractors and suppliers

Key Skills

Must be trade qualified in the carpentry/joinery industry in New Zealand
Minimum of 5 years work experience
Knowledge of house building
Knowledge of NZ residential construction and building processes
Understanding of the relevant building codes and NZ Standards
Confident using Microsoft Word and Outlook
Efficent computer skills
Logical thought processes
Problem solving skills
Must hold a valid work permit to work in NZ
